THE FLOATING MILL
Only a couple of decades ago there were still over 40 floating mills active on the Mura river that produced energy from the river with help of mill wheels and used it for grinding. The mill in Ižakovci was reconstructed in 1999 from the original plans that were left from one of the bygone mills on the Mura river. The mill is completely made of wood. Together with a huge mill wheel it is positioned on two boats called kumpi. Inside the mill there is a special room for the miller where buckwheat, wheat, spelt and maize flour is ground.
Opening hours:
MARCH -  NOVEMBER: every day 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (in the summer time 8:00 p.m.).
DECEMBER - FEBRUARY: every day upon prior request.

THE FERRY
There are only four ferries left on the river Mura which keep ferrying in Slovenia. The ferry is made up of  two shallow boats called kumpi and linked with a connecting and carrying platform on which there is the ferryman’s little hut. The platform with its enclosure is attached to a steel riverside rope that carries the pulley with the hanging rope. The ferry moves on the river with help of the river’s current.

Timetable:
MARCH -  NOVEMBER: every day 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (in the summer time 8:00 p.m.).
DECEMBER - FEBRUARY: every day upon prior request.

POZVAČIN – THE CALLER
Special “invitors”, people who invite (call) relatives, neighbours, friends and acquaintances to a wedding, are known as the Callers pozvačini. This custom is best preserved in the Beltinci region. The Caller is usually a young man who must be cheerful, quick-witted and imaginative. The invitation of the Caller consists of a special “Caller’s speech” pozvačinski guč.
»Prijte vsi, šteri ste od kolena vekši pa od poplata menši,
z glasnimi gutami, friškimi petami
ino trdimi mošnjami!«

MUSIC AND FOLKLORE TRADITIONS
Traditional music is still alive in Beltinci. Different music bands, tamboura orchestras, male and female folk song choirs have been preserving and  promoting the musical heritage. Folk dancing has been a Beltinci tradition for more than 70 years. The most important event is the annual International Folklore Festival Beltinci, which gathers the best folklore performers from Slovenia and abroad.

OLD BICYCLES
The Oldtimer Bicycle Association »Dimek« Beltinci collects and restores old bicycles (above all those produced before the Second World War), performs promotional rides with old bikes and preserves this interesting technical heritage. It organizes an annual oldtimer bicycle show and oldtimer bicycle rally.

An outdoor exibition has been initiated by raising the model of a bicyle from 1861 in front of the Beltinci Castle.
